“The Invention of Hugo Cabret” by: Brian Selznick
I loaned my “Lost and Found’ by Shaun Tan to a friend. Upon returning it to me, she handed me “The Invention Of Hugo Cabret” and said “I think you will really like this book”.
She was right. I was immediately fascinated by the way the illustrations flowed when you paged through the book as if watching a film. Both pictures and words make this book something special. I now know, this book was released a few years ago and won the 2008 Caldecott Medal. If you haven’t read “The Invention of Hugo Cabret” I highly recommend it for all ages, as well as 9-12 year olds.
I hear that there is a film in the making for “The Invention of Hugo Cabret”, and I highly suggest, as always, to read the book first, so you know the true story.
And I am excited to share that Brian Selznick is releasing a new book on September 13, 2011 call Wonderstruck. Here is a sneak peak of the cover art. I am so excited!!
Sharing books, it’s one of my favorite things, giving them back to their rightful Owners, sometimes, not so much. ~Amy
